These bronze adventure sports plaques are my flagship pieces, the culmination of seventeen years of sculpting and casting. They use my favorite traditional sculpting techniques brought to life by an amazing assortment of modern materials. I create art based on my favorite adventure sports: scuba diving, hiking, and rock climbing.
My newest work is the Limited Edition plaques. They offer my personal vision of contrast and suggestion, with the firm, precise shapes of bronze sculpture offset against the ethereal quality of an abstract oil painting background. They embody the contrast that is the basis of my work, and the adventure sports theme that I bring to all my art. I choose colors that reflect the area surrounding each location, call up the flavor of that region, and evoke a much larger scene in the mind of the viewer.
Each Limited Edition plaque comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity.

“Climbing to the Pinnacle” Bronze Plaque
Unframed
A climber approaches the peak of a sharp rock pinnacle and chalks up while he eyes his last few moves. His trusty belayer keeps a watchful eye on him from below.
The belayer has a harness with belay device and slippers, shorts, slippers, and a nifty long braid. The climber has a harness, chalk bag, gear rack, climbing shoes, and tired arms.

“Diving the Tugboat in Curacao”

If you have dived in Curacao you will recognize the sunken tugboat, it's a favorite local dive spot. All the sea life shown can be found in the waters off Curacao
This rich and detailed underwater scene features a female diver descending toward the wreck of a small tugboat. The scene is filled with a variety of exotic fish: spotted eagle ray, starfish, nurse shark, green sea turtle, scorpionfish, a school of goat fish, and a wide variety of corals and plants are all here.

“Diving the Reef in Hawaii” Bronze Plaque

This piece features an elaborate and detailed underwater scene with sea life all found in the waters off the Big Island of Hawaii.
A classic diver descends along a coral reef. This sculpture is populated with a variety of exotic fish. Angelfish, starfish, green sea turtle, butterflyfish, eel, sea fern, brain coral, pipe organ coral and other corals and plants are all represented here. Diver has scuba rig, mask, snorkel, fins, PFD, and jet fins.
