A great blue heron stands majestically on this contemporary photo frame.
A few years ago I did some kayaking in British Columbia, on beautiful Vancouver Island. I was paddling along when I spotted this heron standing in the water, waiting for a passing fish. I was able to get out my camera and get several shots before I glided past. He never did move, just stood there waiting for lunch. Later I used that series of photos as the basis for this sculpture.
This is an excellent birdwatcher gift. Buying gifts for birders can be tough, especially if you don't know much about birding yourself. Give this to someone close to you, and include a photo of yourself or a special place you both shared. Or get one for yourself and slide in your favorite photo, maybe from your last birding trip.
